Some bands simply play venues. Others find a home.
After three unforgettable sold-out nights at Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre, Cats in Space fell in love with the venue's unique atmosphere, its incredible audiences, and the intimate connection that only a sixty-capacity listening room can create. The feeling was mutual.
So much so, that the band have chosen Barnoldswick for what promises to become one of the highlights of their 2026 live calendar – a two night December Residency.
This December, the Cat Army returns for an unforgettable festive celebration with the "Acousti-CAT December Special" – a rare opportunity to experience one of Britain's finest classic rock bands in their most intimate and revealing form.
Normally reserved for exclusive VIP events, these beautifully stripped-back performances peel away the arena-sized bombast to reveal the extraordinary songwriting, breathtaking musicianship and sublime vocal harmonies that lie at the heart of every Cats in Space song. It's a chance to hear the music in an entirely different light.
And true to form, the band promise that no two shows will ever be the same.
Alongside beautifully reimagined versions of fan favourites, expect rarely performed deep cuts from across their catalogue, festive surprises, spontaneous moments, stories from the road, plenty of laughter and, as always...
"Expect the Unexpected!"
For devoted members of the Cat Army and newcomers alike, these December shows offer something genuinely special—an evening where world-class musicians trade arena stages for an intimate room, creating memories that simply couldn't happen anywhere else.
Since blasting onto the UK rock scene in 2015, Cats in Space have become one of the country's most celebrated modern classic rock bands. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of the 1970s, they combine the theatrical grandeur of Queen, the soaring melodies of Boston, the symphonic splendour of ELO, the musical precision of Styx, and the anthemic power of Journey, while creating a sound that remains unmistakably their own.
Think towering guitar riffs, thunderous drums, cinematic keyboards, glorious multi-layered harmonies and choruses that demand to be sung at the top of your voice.
The musicianship is every bit as impressive as the songs themselves. Between them, members of Cats in Space have shared stages and studios with artists including Deep Purple, Status Quo, Thunder, Asia, T'Pau, Ian Gillan, Mike Oldfield, Robin Trower, Jeff Wayne and many more. From Hyde Park to London's O2 Arena, Hammersmith Odeon and major festivals across Europe, the band's reputation as one of Britain's finest live acts continues to grow with every performance.
Their ever-expanding catalogue has earned widespread critical acclaim, chart success and a fiercely loyal following, with critics consistently placing them among the very best contemporary rock bands.

But ask anyone who witnessed their recent three-night residency in Barnoldswick, and they'll tell you that the magic isn't just in the music. It's in the chemistry, the humour, the camaraderie and the genuine affection the band have for their audience.
This December, the Cats return not simply for another concert, but to celebrate Christmas with the people who made them feel so welcome.
Two nights. One incredible venue. One unforgettable Christmas party.
If you missed them last time, don't make the same mistake twice.
The countdown to lift-off has begun...
