Nine Below Zero

For over four decades, UK Rhythm 'n' Blues legends Nine Below Zero have been setting stages alight with a sound that fuses razor-sharp British R&B with the deep grooves of 60s soul and Chicago blues grit.

It all began with the explosive Live at the Marquee (1980) — a debut that crackled with sweat, swagger and urgency, capturing the band at full throttle and earning both critical and public acclaim. They followed with Don't Point Your Finger (1981) before delivering what many regard as their masterpiece: Third Degree (1982) on A&M Records, its iconic sleeve photographed by the legendary David Bailey.

Opening with Eleven Plus Eleven — memorably performed on cult comedy The Young Ones — and the soulful Wipe Away Your Kiss, Third Degree perfectly blended mod attitude, blue-eyed soul and hard-driving rhythm & blues. That signature sound saw the band touring alongside giants such as The Who and The Kinks — no small endorsement in rock 'n' roll terms.

Named after a song by blues master Sonny Boy Williamson II, Nine Below Zero reformed in 1990 and have toured the world relentlessly ever since. Still fronted by original members Dennis Greaves (vocals & guitar) and harmonica virtuoso Mark Feltham — widely regarded as one of the finest harp players Britain has ever produced — the band now features Dennis' son Sonny on drums and bassist Anthony Harty, whose impressive CV includes stints with The Style Council, The Selecter, The Beat and Lee Scratch Perry.

Dennis Greaves has steered the Nine Below Zero ship from day one, producing over twenty albums and sharing stages with true rock and blues royalty including Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, The Allman Brothers Band, Brian May, and many more. The band themselves have supported Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall, alongside appearances with Chuck Berry, Bruce Foxton and Ray Davies.

Expect blistering guitar work, razor-tight rhythm, soulful harmonica and that unmistakable R&B punch that has kept them at the forefront of the British blues scene for over 40 years. This isn't nostalgia — it's living, breathing, road-hardened rhythm & blues played by the masters who helped shape it.

A powerhouse live show. If you know, you know. And if you don't… where have you been all these years?
